What is Permanent Eyeliner?
It is a type of permanent makeup applied close to the lash line to give the look of eyeliner. The eyeliner style is determined base on client's eye shape. The procedure is done with a machine pen and fine needle to implant pigment onto the lash line of the eyes.
What long is the healing process?
Permanent eyeliner healing process can range from 7 - 14 days depending on the client’s immune system and skin condition. Average clients heal in 10 days. Swelling may occur for the first 2 days after the procedure. Clients should follow the After Care Instructions to maximize healed outcome. Clients may also notice a bit of flakes or scabs during healing but it is minimal.
How long does Permanent Eyeliner/ Eyeliner Tattoo last?
Permanent eyeliner can last anywhere from 1 to 5 years. It is imperative to understand that the lasting period depends a lot on various factors such as maintenance of the eyes, the sunlight exposure, and daily care of your skin. Oily skin type clients have the lowest colour retention. To ensure the treatments last for long, it is highly recommended to come back for a 24 month refresher.
Am I a good candidate for Permanent & Semi permanent makeup Eyeliner?
Eyeliner will not be performed on you if any of the following conditions apply to you:
You are under 18
You are a diabetic
You are pregnant/breastfeeding
You have a major heart problem or you use a pacemaker
You are undergoing a treatment such as chemotherapy
You have HIV or Hepititis
You have a severe skin condition
You have uncontrolled blood pressure
You have a weak immune system
You are sick with flu or cold
You suffer from eye infections
You have cataracts
You have epilepsy, seizures, fainting spells or dizziness
You have ocular herpes
You recently had eyelid surgery
How long is the healing process?
The overall healing process depends a lot on your skin type and lifestyle. However, it may take 7-10 days to completely heal. Once all eyeliner flaked off, it may take up to 4 weeks for colour to be more apparent.
Can I wear eyelash extensions after Permanent Makeup Eyeliner?
Do not wear eyelash extensions or apply any products around the eyes during the healing process. However, you may wear eyelash extensions after the eyeliner is fully healed. Average healing takes approximately 7-10 days. Healing process may vary depending on your lifestyle and immunity.
If you'd like to wear eyelash extensions in between the initial and touch up session, it is recommended that you wait for your eyeliner to fully healed first. Please remember to REMOVE all eyelash extensions ONE week prior to your complimentary touch up session.
Can I wear makeup after my Permanent Makeup Eyeliner appointment?
You may wear eye makeup after your permanent eyeliner fully heals. Please consider that eye makeup remove will be used to remove eye makeup on a daily basis, thus, may reduce colour retention of the permanent eyeliner work. The use of eye makeup and remove is at client's discretion.
A refresher is recommended at 24 months for better colour retention. In general, colour retention depends on client's maintance of the eyelid area and skin type.
Is Permanent Eyeliner/ Eyeliner Tattoo procedure painful?
Pain and sensitivity level depends on individual tolerance. However, a 2 step proper numbing procedure is done before and during the procedure to ensure pain is reduced. Please note that you may feel more sensitive during menstrual cycle. It is important that you do not consume any alcohol / caffeine 24 hours prior to scheduled procedure. Getting adequate sleep the night prior to procedure is also important. Not adhering to this will increase pain level sensitivity.
How long does Permanent Makeup Eyeliner/Eyeliner Tattoo procedure take?
The length of procedure depends on the skin type and other small factors but usually these treatments take 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Each treatment consists of three parts:
Numbing period (a numbing cream is applied on the skin which ensures you feel minimal to no pain during the procedure. Understand you might feel a little irritation)

What to do before my Permanent Makeup Eyeliner appointment?
No alcohol consumption 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment. Alcohol consumption will increase your level of sensitivity to pain regardless of numbing application. It will also increase your likelihood of swelling post procedure.
Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure.
Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin e or Advil/Ibuprofen 24 hours prior to procedure.
No eyelash extensions, eyelash perm & tinting.
Eyelash extensions must be removed prior to appointment.
Avoid eyelash perm & tinting at least 4 weeks prior to the scheduled appointment.
Discontinue use of Retin-A one week prior to scheduled appointment.
No botox two weeks around the eyes and brows area.
Do not wear contact lenses to the appointment. Bring your glasses.
Please note that you will feel more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
Can I get Permanent Makeup Eyeliner/Eyeliner Tattoo when I am pregnant or breast-feeding?
No, you should not book any permanent makeup procedure during the pregnancy or breastfeeding period. Though exposure to infection risk is low, hormonal changes can impact color retention and sensivity to pain. It is highly recommended that you wait until your pregnnacy and breastfeeding period is over to book any permanent makeup procedures.
